"As a passionate Ironman athlete, I am constantly striving to be better than last year. 2 years ago I developed debilitating ITB pain in my left knee. I was unable to run for 5 mins without excruciating pain. As an ‘elite’ age grouper this was devastating for me. I had every type of treatment known to man, with some short term gains, but it would always come back just as bad. This lasted for 9 long months.
A coach whose opinion I respected, referred me to Greg Pain. I was desperate, but also sceptical.
After some tough questions, a full video analysis of my running technique and my muscle make-up, Greg told me it was nothing to do with my knee. I had an upper body rotational issue.
2 weeks into exercise only treatment, and nothing relative to the knee, I could run at solid tempo for 30 minutes before I’d get a slight niggle. 1 month in I was running 100% pain-free. The knee pain has never come back since.
Greg considers the whole body and how it moves. He is accuracy focused with his exercise choices, does not accept poor form, and the cues he gave me to run again worked brilliantly.

"My son, aged 16 at the time, came to see Greg with severe lower back pain from rowing. The pain was so extreme he was unable to train and had difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time. We had been to multiple specialists, physios and chiropractors to try and rectify the issue with little positive result. At the first session, Greg immediately understood what was causing Tom’s pain and worked with him to strengthen weakened areas of his body in order to support his lower back and prevent further injury and pain. Greg ensured Tom eased back into a suitable training programme which increased over time according to pain levels, and worked with Tom’s coaches to ensure everyone was aligned with his treatment plan. Within months Tom was able to train and compete with little pain and - 10 months on - is currently at peak rowing season training 10+ sessions a week with zero pain. Something we weren’t sure he was going to be able to achieve again.
